While the Near Death Experiment has enormous potential to change the way that humanity views death, anyone who has read through the Experimental Procedure will appreciate that this experiment will not be cheap to run.

Ironically, the NDExp itself could be run by anyone with the appropriate resources. It is more the Wright Brothers in the bicycle shop, then NASA doing rocket science. Thankfully, unlike the exploration of Space, we don't need anything like half a billion US dollars to get the job done!!

The safe exploration of death, much like any other form of exploration is not to be done on the cheap and the safety of participants if of the utmost concern and we don't intend to cut financial corners, if this would put anyone in danger.

Expenditures

Expenditures will be incurred in three main areas.

Personnel

Firstly, the when the time comes to actually conduct the NDExp, it will require the services of Doctors, Nurses, Psychologists, Administrative and Support Staff to get things done in a professional and effective manner. While we are anticipating that some professionals may volunteer their services (as one Psychologist has already offered to do), these people may not be able to devote themselves fully to the task as the experiment nears commencement.

Equipment

Secondly, the NDExp will require the ongoing use of high quality medical equipment, and facilities from which to conduct the experiment safely. Much of this equipment, such as the Heart-Lung machine, used to initiate the Hypothermic Circulatory Arrest costs tens of thousands of dollars (US). While big ticket items, such as this, are obvious, there are a multitude of more mundane items, such as those involved in sterilization, copies of Psychometric tests, or even the computers that staff will require to complete basic administration.

Setup

Thirdly, there are the more immediate concerns in actually putting together a project such as this. This will require a full time Research Project Coordinator,in order to lobby, promote, recruit and organize for the Experiment's commencement and successful completion.

Because of this, we are currently seeking donations from all people who have an interest in seeing this research conducted.

Our Guarantee of Accountability

The good news, is that we hold ourselves fully accountable for the monies donated and the manner in which they are spent. All donations will be listed on our web site (minus personal information, unless requested), as will all expenditures. All we request is that anyone submitting a donation include a personal code, or name and this will be displayed alongside the amount donated on our donations page, thereby demonstrating to the donor that the money has been received and publicly acknowledged. If no code is listed, they will be entered as being anonymous.

Donating Through "PAYPAL"

We have elected to utilize "Paypal" as our primary system of accepting donations, as they offer a secure, highly encrypted, friendly method of payment. In addition, because they act as the middleman, we never need to know your private financial details, thereby reducing the risk inherent in donating money over the internet. Another benefit, is that they accept credit card donations, which makes things easier for all concerned

Donating with a Cheque.

Obviously, we recognize that not all people are happy with using the internet for financial transactions. Accordingly, we are also happy to accept donations, in the form of cheques, which can be sent to:

"The Near Death Experiment"

PO Box 202

Needless to say, we appreciate any donation, however small. With 5 Billion people on the planet, all who should hopefully have some interest in life after death, we hope that is the little donations from the many that will help move humanity forward.
